So I want to start drawing again (seeing all the really good fancomics on here makes me want to try to make a weird fancomic thing of my own involving a crossover between one of my stories and one of my fanfics), but there's several problems:

1) I have never figured out how to shade to make things look three dimensional or dramatic or anything else (basically I can't shade period).

2) I don't know how to draw human/humanoid/anthropomorphic animal characters, wings/feathers, fur, etc. The characters featured in the comic are AU versions of anthropomorphic animal superheroes and a few human characters from a cartoon I like (that's the fanfic part), as well as a winged and feathered humanoid from a novel I'm working on. So I really want to know how to draw them semi-realistically/realistically (at least as realistic as anthropomorphic animals, superheroes/supervillains and magical winged warriors go), except I have never been able to draw human/humanoid characters, anthro characters, or realistic wings/feathers/fur/anything else you can name. 


Any help on this would be appreciated!

I'm going to try being semi-active on here again. One of the groups I recently joined has a worldbuilding contest of sorts, and I'm going to try to be a part of it.

Name: Storm (human version)
Nickname(s): "The crazy pinto", "that troublemaker", "that mad bounty hunter", "the stripe-winged madwoman", and other, much less appropriate terms.

2.) Very nice, tell us about them! Their personality, dislikes?

She loves causing trouble and flirts with all the ladies. She probably could benefit from professional help, and a lot of it. Kind of a jerk, and if she doesn't like you, you know. She might also not be completely sane, as she tends to laugh like a madwoman when someone tries to hurt her. Though she might be feigning insanity to get her foes to back off so she can escape.

3.)Cool! Now if your character was going in a movie, what would he/she sound like? Like a voice actor or something.

I have no clue. Maybe like Mandy from "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" but older/more of a rough voice.

4.) Does he/she have any kids? And if so with who? And do they have a mate?

She adopted an orphaned Nocturne (bat-winged) flier girl (about 12), and her main mate is a winged warrior woman named Goldwing, but both are polyamorous, so she has lots of mates.

5.)Is he/she a virgin?

Getting a little personal, aren't you? (Actually, I'm not sure, since breeding in her world is through magic).

6.) Does he/she believe in world peace?
Considering her personality, she'd find world peace boring... 

7.) How did they come to be?

Magic of course! Though her personality was shaped through years in a deathmatch arena.

Story-wise, I started working on my novel-trilogy-in-progress. and Storm just kind of "happened"- I just started writing, and this scrappy thief/bounty hunter appeared as a sort-of foil for the main character in the novels.

8.)How tall is he/she?

Pretty tall, but not so much that flying would be hard.

9.) Is he/she capable of falling in love? If so, how would they react to it?

Oh HECK yes! Her reaction: shameless flirting and/or highly inappropriate comments.

10.)Are they religious?

She worships the Great Hawk, a wind goddess.

11.)What are their faults? All negatives.

Violent/aggressive
Some sociopathic tendencies
Goes out of her way to start trouble
Loves fighting WAY too much
Holds grudges/has a temper

Wants to defeat the Unholy Triad (a gang of villains who want to conquer and/or destroy her world)

Though a bounty hunter, she has some form of a code- she won't cross those she sees as allies

Total lesbian, no interest in males

Killed quite a few folk in the arena, caged some pretty vengeful criminals who now want revenge, crossed a demon-god who now wants her destroyed as painfully as possible (not sure if that third one is an actual regret or just annoying to her though)

15.)One wish?

To destroy the Unholy Triad (three super-powerful evil beings that want to conquer/enslave and/or destroy her world)

16.)If he/she has a crush, what do they like about the other?

Goldwing, loves her fighting skill and loyalty

17.)If he/she had a soundtrack to describe them, what would it be?

Not sure, maybe heavy metal or gothic? Something dark but exciting.

18.)Does he/she have a rival of any kind? Like a childhood friend or something?

...Too many rivals/enemies to list. She's wanted by the cops for stealing and by the underworld for turning in criminals. She also managed to anger two extremely powerful mages, a vampire queen, and a demon. As for a childhood friend: she did get saved by Goldwing in the arena, and she was in the arena very young, so I guess Goldwing?

19.)Anything he/she wants to change?

The cops trying to arrest her, but she doesn't mind the constant attempts on her life by criminals for some reason.

20.) Has he/she went through any life changing events? How are they different now in the present then their past selves?

Well, the deathmatch arena thing turned her even more mean and sadistic than she used to be.

21.) Last question, what is his/her favorite sound?

The sounds of fighting.
